Its historic architecture is the perfect environment for the Downtown Goldsboro Ghost Tour, which shares tales of the spirits that are said to inhabit these buildings.

Led by a costumed paranormal investigator, the tours are a popular downtown attraction. In daylight hours, there’s also a free monthly Downtown History Walking Tour, which begins at the Wayne County History Museum 

A paranormal investigator also leads the Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield Ghost Tour, where 2,000 Confederate forces attempted to stop the Union’s 12,000 troops from destroying a vital railroad bridge. Both walking tours are about 1.5 miles in length, so wear comfortable shoes.
