Garden 9-1-1

Oh boy….this is our first year of gardening and it sure has been a learning experience. I know we planted the squash plants too close together and probably should have planted less of them. I went out last night to check the garden and the squash was not looking well at all. Upon closer inspection I noticed that almost a lot of the roots were exposed–yikes!!

We decided that the best course of action would be to cut off all the dead leaves and add LOTS more dirt. So tonight we performed some gardening surgery, but I’m not sure the plants will make it. The zucchini plants are producing well (yeah, I know, suprise, suprise….I think zucchini always does well—lol).

Anywho, here’s some pics of the garden…what do you think. Will they make it???

This is after we added lots of dirt. The leaves look funny–almost turning a white color.

LOL–Alan thought this would be a fun photo:
The space is only about 4′x8′
Keeping my fingers crossed that they will rebound. There are quite a few buds on the plants. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I seen that the other veggies were doing good as well. We’ve had some really cold weather this summer and the garden seems to be a little stunted, …Read More

Gardening

Most everything is planted. Of course, after we had 90% of it done we had frost (gggrrrr….) I think the plants survived though. Hoping for a good harvest. Here’s what we planted (we are trying some in containers this year to see if we have any luck that way) 6 tomato6 pepper (a variety of …Read More
