Old Town Trolley Around St Augustine

Em and I only had a couple hours to visit St. Augustine, FL so we decided the best way to see as much of the city as possible was on a trolley tour. The entire route takes about 90 minutes and is narrated by the driver.
The Old Town Trolley is a hop on/hop off trolley that makes stops at all the highlights of the city. Em & I arrived late in the day so we hopped on and rode it around town and back to our starting point without hopping off.
We parked at the Old Jail, which, sadly, we didn’t have time to tour, picked up our tickets and hopped on the trolley.
We sat in the second row of the second car. I will say that our car was a bit squeaky making it hard to hear the narration at times. However, it didn’t stop us from enjoying the views along the route.
There are 23 stops on the trolley route. If you are spending a couple days in the area the Old Town Trolley is a convenient way to get around.
Your trolley ticket is good for 3 days, so purchase once and enjoy the benefits of having someone else drive.
If you only have a day to spend in St. Augustine here are the stops I recommend hopping off at to explore.
OLD TOWN TROLLEY MUST VISIT STOPS
STOP 6: Spanish Quarter, Castillo de San Marcos, Pirate & Treasure Museum. The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest remaining European fort in the United States and the most visited attraction in St. Augustine.
See walls that have stood the test of colonial warfare and watch historical re-enactments and cannon firings.
STOP 8: Hypolita & St. George Street Historic Walking Mall. Let your inner shopping diva shine while exploring the stores and shop along the historic walking mall.
STOP 11: Lightner Museum, Flagler College & Dow Museum of Historic Homes. Love architecture? This is the stop for you.
STOP 12: St. Augustine Distillery. There are tastings. Enough said.
STOP 13: San Sebastian Winery. Once again, there are tastings.
STOP 14: Whetstone’s Chocolate Factory. I’m not a fan of chocolate, but for my chocolate loving readers this will be a fun stop for you!
STOP 15: Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. I love exploring Basilicas so this is a must when I return to St. Augustine.
Those stops will definitely fill a day plus some, but if you have time to squeeze in one more thing hop off at Stop 19 and visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
