I have used up, old electronic equipment all around the house. I don’t want to put it in the garbage, I can’t donate it because it doesn’t work so I’ve just been letting it pile up in the house until I decide what to do with it. Fortunately, I recently found out that I can take my used electronics to Best Buy for recycling and, the best part, its FREE.
There isn’t a catch (that I’ve found anyways). It doesn’t matter where you bought your electronic gadget or how old it is. Best Buy will recycle it. In fact, Best Buy recycles 387 pounds of electronics EACH MINUTE their stores are open. I’m not going to do the math, but that is a hell of a lot of electronics. Can you imagine how many electronics aren’t being recycled? Technology changes constantly and, therefore, creates so much waste. I’m glad that Best Buy is stepping up and helping people become more environmentally friendly.
Best Buy will responsibly and safely dispose of your electronics. No, they aren’t going into their dumpster. They are recycling them in an earth friendly manner. You can learn more about the Best Buy Recycle Program here. When you recycle your old electronics at Best Buy you can upgrade to an Energy Star certified product.
