Alamo Then & Now Holiday Road Trips

IMG_5010

The other day I shared a road trip story from my childhood. While looking at those long ago images I realized Em & I took an almost identical trip in 2011. It’s fun taking road trips with Emma and I’m so glad that I can share my love of travel with her. Sadly, I didn’t have the money to travel as much when Dylan was younger and now that he has a full-time job it is hard for him to get away to travel with us. Hopefully, he’ll be able to take some short trips with us this year.

When I was growing up we never traveled much and we definitely didn’t travel during the holidays. We always stayed home which was nice because that meant more time to play with out new toys. Now, however, I’m packing up the car and making the road trip to my parents most years. Luckily, they live just a couple hours away and, now that the kids are older, it’s easy to make the trip between our house and theirs. I think, perhaps, the lack of travel during my younger years has spurred an intense love of exploring and discovering new places as an adult. Hopefully I’ve instilled a love of travel in the kids and they will continue enjoying a travel as adults.

Do you pack up the car and travel during the holidays? If so, consider using Alamo for your travel needs. Renting a car gives you the opportunity to drive something fun and new. It’s a small gift to yourself this holiday season.

Alamo offers a hassle-free rental experience, provides great deals and always offers their Alamo Insiders at least a 10% discount.

We are actually hosting Christmas day this year, super excited!!! I didn’t travel much growing up either, but I LOVE it and used my college days to take classes overseas during J term. I could do without the loans, but it made it more affordable to travel!

I like to be home for Christmas, but would love to travel afterwards during Christmas break from school. Will consider Alamo next time! :)

My grandma wants me to go there SO bad! She has talked about it since I was a little kid – It looks absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait for the day I get to go.

PS: I hope you get to take a trip with Dylan soon!
