And I may have gone a little fan girl

So, here’s a little something you may not know about me. I’m a product of the 80′s and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE 80′s Rock-n-Roll. Seriously, I’ll take Motley Crue, Journey, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Van Halen, or any of the other 80′s rockers over today superstars. Even better, my kids love 80′s music as well. I’m thinking I must have done something right as a parent.

Anywho, I digress.

I was at a VIP, invite only, 80′s party at the Bourbon Room in the Venetian Casino in Vegas. As soon as I walked in I started to flashback to the 80′s and maybe reverted back a bit to my teenage self.

Two big screens above the small stage were playing 80′s music videos, drinks were free & delicious (2 drink minimum every 30 minutes), 80′s candy bar, jelly bracelets, fun sunglasses, and the event hosts and the servers were all dressed 80′s style. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Best. Party. EVER!!

The emcee of the night was a riot and I knew I had to have a photo with him. The party was really gearing up, more people are arriving, drinks are flowing, great music is playing. My sister nudges me and says “hey, who’s that guy over there?” He was surrounded by people, but all I could see was his back. Kinda hard to tell form that angle. The next thing I know the emcee is announcing that Vince Neil is in the house and I may have swooned just a bit. O.M.G Vince Neil is in the HOUSE!!!

Now, I know a lot of you have probably met rock stars, movie stars and more, but this was my very first encounter with meeting ANY celebrity at a party and it just happened to be Vince Neil. I died.

I was a little hesitant to walk up for a photo, but, figured what the hell. This is a once in a life time opportunity and I better take advantage of it. Sadly, I still had my conference badge on and didn’t take the best photo, BUT I have a photo of me with Vince Neil!!!

Ah, Vince and I are looking a lot older than we did in the 80′s, but, in my opinion, he still looks great. It was a crazy night. I wish I would have had time to talk with Vince and his band. So many questions, but, sadly it was a circus with everyone wanting photos (not that I blame them).

I’m glad I have the photo as proof otherwise I may have thought it was all a dream. It was definitely a night to remember.
