The current price of fuel and the increased cost of groceries has me looking for additional ways to earn and/or save money. I heard of Jingit, a website and smart phone app that pays me to watch ads and answer a few questions and scan UPC codes while grocery shopping. Um, yeah, I can do that.

The first thing I had to do was sign up for Jingit both online and on my phone. Both methods were quick and easy and allowed me to choose a school to donate Box Tops For Education. Every time I scan a product or watch a video my school earns Box Tops for Education. Hey, this just keeps getting better and better. Schools can always use extra funds and I’m happy to help.

It’s easy to sign up online, which you can do here. You can sign up using your Facebook information. Easy enough, 2 clicks and I’m ready to watch some videos and answer a few questions. Each video and q&a session only takes a couple minutes. Payment per video varies.

The next step was to download the Jingit app (go here) and then head to the store to verify the ease of earning money using Jingit.  Once at the store, in my case Walmart, I pull up the app, click Check In and look at the list of available products and what each one is worth.

As I was doing my grocery shopping I made sure to scan products if I passed them. If you are not sure what a product is from the check in description just click on it for a product photo (ie: NV/FiberOne).

It was really simple to use. Just a couple clicks and money was being deposited into my Jingit account.

After completing my grocery shopping I took a look at how much money I earned. It wasn’t a lot of money, but I didn’t scan all the available items either. I think I scanned about 4 products and earned just over $3. Not too bad. The max you can earn a week is $10, but that means you can earn $40/month or $480/year. Nice money for just doing my weekly grocery shopping.
