A few years ago I would have never considered social media as being an influence in my life or would I have ever thought that I influenced people in this space. Fast forward to today and social media is a huge influence both in my life and in others. What I buy, watch, read, where I travel to, and almost every purchase I make is based on recommendations, thoughts, or reviews that I’ve read from people I consider influential on the web and I believe my suggestions and reviews influence my readers.

Influence from online websites, blogs, and individuals has become quite the trend in today’s society. I have favorite sites that I read on a regular basis and those that I go to when I want to know about something specific.

I was asked to share three online people that influence my life through their blog, facebook, etc. Picking only three is HARD!! I like reading such a wide variety of blogs, but after a LOT of consideration I was able to narrow it down to three for the purpose of this post.

First up: Iowa Girl Eats

I met Kristen at my Hilton HHonors Napa Experience and she is simply adorable. I started reading her blog and fell in love with it. She has fantastic recipes and beautiful photography (2 things that are a must for me). In addition to her wonderful recipes she throws in a lot of other fun posts. I’ve really been enjoying her Friday Favorites posts where she shares her favorite things she’s found around the web during the week. I have a love/hate relationship with those posts because our taste are so similar I end up spending a lot of time looking at all the pretties.

Next: Skimbaco Lifestyle

Katja at Skimbaco Lifestyle shares a wonderful array of information on her site. Everything for home, food, travel and so much more. I can spend hours reading her site and finding all kinds of new things to try. Additionally, every Sunday Katja posts Social Sunday ~ a roundup of great posts from around the web. This is a great way to start your Sunday. Curl up with your laptop or iPad, a cup of coffee and enjoy reading some of the best posts from the previous week.

Finally: The Neon Jungle Princess 

Abby’s blog is so much fun to read. She has great travel adventures and so many of her destinations are added to my “must visit some day” list. Abby also seems to get some really awesome opportunities that may never come my way (cough) private jet ride (cough) so reading about them is the next best thing. I had the opportunity to meet Abby at a conference recently and she is just as charming in real life as she comes across on her blog.

I feel so fortunate to be a part of the social media family. I’ve met some wonderful people and been afforded some astounding opportunities.
