I’m learning to enjoy road trips a lot more than I thought I would. I think the main reason is its a LOT cheaper to travel by car than by plane and renting a car. Plus it gives us time to explore areas and find interesting things off the beaten path.
One of the best things about quitting the day job
and doing freelance work
is being able to hit the road without having
to squeeze a vacation into a week.
Em & I are planning on hitting the road again soon. We are making a South East tour with stops in Asheville, NC; Savannah, GA; Orlando, Miami, and the Keys in Florida; and New Orleans, LA.
We want to hike in Asheville, spend time exploring the history of Savannah, do all the kitchy touristy things in Orlando/Kissimmee, explore Miami, spend lots of time at the beach in the Keys, have some beignets and coffee while listening to Jazz music in New Orleans and then head home.
We want to move at a slow place and
just take our time absorbing the feel of each place.
There are no solid plans for how long we’ll visit each place except for the Kissimmee area, where we’ll spend a week. I’ll be writing for the i.seekissimmee.com blog that week and visiting all kinds of great attractions around the area.
I think I’m most looking forward to spending time at the ocean AND having some warm weather. I can almost feel the sand between my toes.
February is turning into a rockin’ travel month. There’s the Taste of the NFL next weekend, a trip to NYC<<–more on that soon, and then the SE trip. I can’t wait to share all the wonderful sights and discoveries with you.
Cheers,

It is just so good to read how content and happy you have become.
Woot woot. Love road trips. So much to explore, especially in the good Ol’ US of A.
Can’t wait until next week!
Road tripping is the best Deb! Next time you take this trip let us know so we can work together!
