Earlier today I let you know that Murphy USA announced a 10 cent per gallon reduction in the price of their gas through the end of summer. There are, of course, some exclusions, mostly to do with the state you live in, but overall a very easy process. You can read their press release here.

 

I was at Walmart earlier today and picked up a Gas Card. There was a large display that looked like this:

 

I know it says save 3 cents/gal, but that is for some other card; don’t pay attention to it. Look for a card that is a gift card/no fee card. I found this orange one (which will be nice and easy to spot in my wallet).  Nice and bright, perfect!

I added the card to my groceries I was purchasing and had the cashier add $10 to the card. I know, not much money, but I wanted to see how it worked before I committed.

After leaving the store I went immediately to Murphy USA to figure out how this whole card/save money thing was going to work. Pulling up to the pump and there are signs all over announcing the savings.

Just insert the gift card into the credit card slot, if you are paying at the pump,

and your price per gallon will magically go from this:

SWEET!!! Easiest money I saved all day.
