I’ve been on a kick lately to spruce up the house. I think it happens every spring. I have all kinds of ideas for what I would like to do. Our bedrooms are pretty small, but I’ve always wanted a huge awesome bedroom. You know, the kind that you can have a gigantic canopy bed. Then I would add a nice padded bench at the end of the bed. I would have long lovely white drapes hanging down creating a hidden retreat so I could hide from the kids world and lounge there and drink read a book. It might look something like this:

Or how about a bedroom that has all matching furniture; bed, dressers, mirror, chaise lounge, etc. Right now we just have a couple shelves in our closet that doubles as a dresser. It’s a good thing I don’t have many clothes. If I couldn’t convince Alan to go the canopy bed route, I’m pretty sure I could convince him to agree to this furniture for our master bedroom:

However, both of those scenarios are well out of my reach. Our house is small, which is fine (really it is, it’s much cheaper to live in a small house), but some days I dream about what it would be like to go to bed every night in a lovely room like those pictured above. I guess I just need to focus on creating more of a haven in my small piece of real estate instead.
