#WeeknightMeals: Baked Ziti Casserole

I used this site to find a yummy new recipe. Baked Ziti Casserole looked easy enough to make and would please my ubber picky teen daughter.

It only takes a couple ingredients and can be completed within 30 or 40 minutes. The most time consuming part is cooking the noodles.

Just mix the Spaghetti Sauce and Tomato Paste together, cook up the noodles and begin to layer in an 8×8 pan.

Start with a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom:

Then a layer of noodles and cheese:

Repeat until the 8×8 pan is full. Pop in the over and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Next time I’ll remember to take a photo BEFORE everyone digs in:

It was really yummy and so easy to make. The original recipe calls for ground sirloin to be added, but I skipped that part so Emma would eat it. Next time I’ll add some veggies to the sauce.

Another alternative: Use an alfredo sauce and add chicken to the noodles and cheese.

sounds yum! There's always room for pasta. Another alternative, try adding a layer of smoked mozzarella and toss in some fresh basil to the mix. (if adding meat, Italian bulk sausage goes better with the smoked cheese)
