On the way to Sanibel, Fl

We left bright and early on St. Patty’s day to fly to Orlando, Fl. After we arrived in Orlando we rented a car and drove to Fort Myers, Fl. That was a long, boring drive, but worth every mile once we arrived in Fort Myers/Sanibel Gateway area. We checked into the La Quinta/Sanibel Gateway hotel (aka: just off the island and about half the price), threw our bags in our room and headed out to Sanibel Island—just a few miles away. Sanibel Island is a prime location for sea shell hunting.

We arrived on the island around 7 p.m., right before sunset and drove straight to Lighthouse Beach. It is so beautiful. We didn’t find any seashells to keep, but the scenery was stunning.

FYI: All the following images were taken with my iPhone so it’s not up to my standard quality, but it’s “good enough” :)
