Yesterday was beautiful here in northern Michigan. We had clear blue skies and the sun was shinning. It was still cold…maybe high 30′s, but since the sun was out it felt a bit warmer. We decided to head out for a walk after work. (Note to self: Take snowshoes next time.) There is still LOTS of snow in the woods and walking on the hard packed stuff is challenging at best. My feet would slide one way or the other or my foot would suddenly sink in a soft spot. A walk in the woods was not an easy hike, but it was so worth it!
All images shot with my iPhone. I’ll have to take the camera with me next time.
Getting ready to head down the trail:
The trails are used for cross country skiing as well.
Our goal was to walk to the river…it was so pretty.
The water was crstyal clear.
I love the design of the sand in the water.
Deer tracks.
Tree shadows on clean snow.
Alan and BB making their way along the trail.
That crazy dog was insistent that there was something in the snow.

Wow Deb, your iPhone takes some great pictures. Good for you for getting out for a walk. I bet it was great for your soul. Even a walk around the neighborhood would do my soul and my heart some good.
Cadillac Pathway?
Did you get out and try the newly paved White Pine Trail last fall? I am so looking forward to hitting it with the bikes this spring.
As we passed thru Cadillac on our way home, we noticed it was still snow covered. Hoping it goes SOON!
Wow! That water is amazing! Great pics, Deb. Hate to tell ya…it's 65 here today. We haven't had any snow for days. Looking forward to spring…but the wind..ugh. And you are absolutely right…a walk in the woods is good for the soul.
