After our crazy day on Saturday, Sunday was a much needed day for some R&R. What better way to enjoy the freaking fantastic weather we have been having then by kayaking down the Manistee. I’m serious about the weather. I think we hit 90 degrees yesterday. It’s been so unbelieveable gorgeous; sunny and HOT! Most people around here hate this kind of weather, but for me it is complete heaven.
There was a group of 9 of us that took to the river. 7 kayaks and 1 canoe. It was so much fun. We only passed a couple other people while we were on the river. It was great!!! The trip took about 2 1/2 hours. It took me the first hour to just relax. I have a really hard time shutting my mind off. However, the beautiful river, the quiet, and the wildlife was exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries for the crazy busy week ahead.

We love kayaking the Manistee! Where did you go? We usually go to Grayling and kayak from 612 to Shell Haven, but have done several other trips in that area!
We are actually heading to Grayling this weekend to go camping and hopefully some kayaking. Grayling is one of our family's favorite spots to spend time.
Glad you were able to spend some time outdoors on the river. It's the best!
Hi Wendy,
We used Smithville Landing, north of Lake City for our kayak trip. We started at Tin Can and kayaked back to the Landing. I've been wanting to get over to Grayling and do some kayaking over there. I'll have to check out those spots.
Have fun this weekend and enjoy your time on the river!
This looks like fun except I hate to kayak. I'm glad you like it though!
