Silly Mama Quilts Review & Giveaway

I love quilts. I especially love handmade quilts that have been passed down from generation to generation. My Aunt recently celebrated her 90th birthday and instead of gifts people were asked to bring quilts that she had made for a quilt show. It was amazing to look at the variety of quilts. You could tell that each were made with so much love and truly took the personality of the reciever into consideration.

I wish I had more time to quilt. I can do the bare minimum when it comes to quilting and would love to become better, however, there are only so many hours in a day. Fortunately for me I found Brooke from Silly Mama Quilts on etsy.com. Brooke sent me this beautiful table runner for me to share with you.

The colors are so cheerful and fresh and make me think of sunny spring days.

You can tell Brooke has great attention to detail when it comes to creating her quilts. I love her choice of contrasting thread how she quilted the material. The thread doesn’t show up so well in my photo, but its a reddish color. I had this on the table and was cleaning up the kitchen when my 13 year old daughter walked through and said “Hey, where did you get that?” I told her that Silly Mama Quilts sent it to me so that I could tell all my readers about it. Her words were “Mom, tell them it’s beautiful and they need to buy one” No, I’m not making that up. She really loves it. I can see that I’m going to have to keep an eye on it or else it will end up in her bedroom. What can I say, my daughter has great taste.

Look at those colors. It reminds me of robin’s eggs and tulips and green grass…sigh….can you tell I’m ready for spring. The runner looks so cheerful on my kitchen table.

Look at the corner work. I love crisp corners on my quilts and Silly Mama nails it on this runner.


The back side of the runner has this really cool blue fabric. It’s very soothing and makes me think of ocean waves and being at the beach. When I want to switch things up I’m just flipping my runner over and showing the blue side. It’s like two quilts in one. Perfect!

    That is a gorgeous quilt table runner. You're right, your daughter does have good taste (always reassuring isn't it). I went to Silly Momma's etsy store and loved her quilts, especially the Nature All Around one.
