Gardening

Most everything is planted. Of course, after we had 90% of it done we had frost (gggrrrr….) I think the plants survived though. Hoping for a good harvest. Here’s what we planted (we are trying some in containers this year to see if we have any luck that way)

6 tomato
6 pepper (a variety of hot, red, yellow, jalepeno)
6 cucumber
6 beans
3 zucchini
3 yellow squash

This is our 4×8 box with tomato and pepper plants. Alan is building a 2nd 4×8 box for the squash and a cucumber or two:
Utilizing the water garden (which is currently sans water) for bean plants and herbs

Our container veggies on the deck
We bought a patio tomato as well just to see how it fairs. It came with an itty bitty tomato on it. I can’t wait to have a blt sandwich~~nothing better in the summer.

What are you planting this year?? I’m considering trying a blueberry plant in a container as well….suggestions/tips/stories. Let me know :)

ps. Yes, our garden is in addition to our CSA membership. This is the first year we’ve made a real effort to get a garden going. The CSA is my back up in case the garden is a complete failure.
