Yesterday was spent doing LOTS of yard and garden work. One of my projects was to get this flower garden weeded and mulched. I don’t even want to talk about the flower garden you can see in the photo on the far side of the stairs….eek…needs serious work. Yes, there really is some perennials in there–honest there is.
It was a beautiful morning and I was getting a lot accomplished and then I looked up to my right and seen these nasty storm clouds.
However, to my left was still blue sky:
Huh. I just kept on pulling weeds, then I heard the thunder start to roll in. Ummm, well it wasn’t raining so I kept on pulling. Then the lighting started–alrighty then, time to take a break. It stormed something fierce for about 30 minutes and then cleared up. Back to work.
Final outcome is this. There is about 6 bags of mulch in there and could probably use 2 more. My theory is if there is enough mulch I won’t have to weed so much. I also started attacking the flower bed on the far side of the stairs and got quite a bit done there as well.
The two small plants are my newly planted English Lavender….oh my, it already smells great. I hope it blooms this year
What are you working on in your garden?
